| The
Carnivore 10 Formula
was developed, researched and tested by leading zoo
animal keepers, nutritionists, and veterinarians. This
fresh-frozen beef diet is made from high quality beef
processed in a HACCP compliant California State inspected
plant under stringent sanitary conditions. Natural Balance®
Zoo Carnivore Diet 10 contains a zoo animal vitamin-mineral
premix, which includes vitamin E, niacin, vitamin A
and taurine - particularly important nutrients to felidae.
The diet is nutritionally complete and needs no additional
supplementation; it meets all NRC and AAFCO requirements
for felids and canids, and does not contain meat by-products
or grains such as corn, wheat, rice or barley. Non-meat
ingredients conform to the feed standards defined by
the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO).

 Natural
Balance® Zoo Carnivore Diet
10
is an all stages diet. Natural Balance Zoo Carnivore Diets
can be fed to growing and mature animals. All forms of
the diet, especially the Zoo Carnivore 5, emulsify well
with pediatric milk replacement formulas. The amount fed
should be based on the animal’s body weight, stage
of growth and recommendations from your zoo nutritionist.
Other factors influencing dietary intake include the species
and sex of the animal, pregnancy, seasons, the individual
animal's caloric requirements and which diet - 5, 10 or
15% is being fed. Catering to an individual animal's dietary
requirement is enhanced with the availability of 5, 10
and 15% fat diets with one additional option of mixing
any two of them. Generally, once a diet is established
for an adult animal, consumption rates will be between
2 and 6% of the body weight; young and very young animals
will consume 5 - 10% of their body weight. It is recommended
that you periodically offer your animals Natural Balance
U.S.D.A. Inspected beef bones to afford additional enjoyment
and exercise of the mouth and jaw structure. |
| STORAGE
AND HANDLING |
| Proper
storage, handling and preparation methods are imperative
for raw meat-based diets. This carnivore diet must be
stored at freezer temperatures until needed at 0ºF and
below, then thawed under refrigeration. Do not thaw
at room temperature. Thawed meat should not be refrozen.
