have been feeding Natural Balance®
Potato and Duck Formula to my dogs for
a few months now with wonderful results. My 15 year old
Beagle, 11 year old Golden Retriever and 4 year old English
Mastiff all have allergy issues. This food has helped
to clear them up. They no longer have inflamed itchy ears
from recurrent yeast infections. Their coats are soft,
shiny, thick and they shed less. Please NEVER EVER change
the ingredients. I have fed other foods in the past that
helped them, but then they made ingredient changes supposedly
for the better. No it was to make their food cheaper to
make due to a lamb and venison shortage. GIVE ME A BREAK!
Please keep the duck and potato food and treats the same

own two mixed breed dogs; Hannah is eight and Ruby is
two. I rescued both adopting Hannah at the age of 8 weeks
and Ruby at 4 months. Hannah has had severe digestive
problems since the day we brought her home. After thorough
testing, her vet informed us that Hannah has food allergies.
She was placed on a Rx food plan but still had numerous
bouts of diarrhea and throwing up. A little over a year
ago, I read an article about your products; particularly
the Natural Balance® Potato
and Duck Formula. I picked up a small bag from
my local PETCO store to sample. First, both of my dogs
absolutely LOVE the product. I also give them your biscuit
products as treats. Second, Hannah has had only 2-3 bouts
of irritable stomach since placing her on the Duck and
Potato formula, and I believe it was caused from something
she picked up in the yard. Your product has truly turned
my Hannah around. She is much more active and plays more
with my younger dog Ruby. She is simply a happy and content

just wanted to tell you how wonderful your products are.
We have 9 year old Chesapeake Bay Retriever who has a
seizure disorder. We were reluctant to put him on meds
since there are so many complications associated with
them. We found an article several years ago linking glutens
to seizure disorders. We decided to give your Natural
Balance® Potato and Duck Formula
a try. I am happy to say that Ernie has been seizure free
for 7 years! I am convinced that putting him on a low
gluten diet has helped prolong his life and helped him

wanted to let you know your Natural Balance®
Potato and Duck Formula has been a blessing
for my Yellow Lab. Every other food we used he would still
break out with horrible skin conditions...hot spots, sores
& pustules on his belly, chewing at his paws till
they bled. Since being on this diet, this has not been
so bad. He still has environmental issues that we need
to treat with medications periodically, but he is a much

am writing to let you know how pleased I am with your
Natural Balance products! I have been feeding my dog the
Natural Balance Dry Formulas for almost two years now
and I really must say Cindy has never done better in her
life! She is fourteen years old and behaves like a young
dog again. Unfortunately, she had a paralytic stroke this
year in January and now her head and neck are half paralyzed.
However, she has been recovering every day since then
and I am crediting this to your natural food! When one
bag is empty, I always switch to another Natural Balance
Dry Formula! You are the one and only company I have come
across that really cares about making a healthy food for
our pets. The fact that you make food suitable for both
puppies and adult dogs proves that you really try to copy
the nutrition of wolves. This is something I have always
been looking for: ONE food for both puppies and adults!
As you are saying, all a dog needs is mostly meat and
some grain. And with your products you are doing just
that: you are producing a dog food that contains mostly
meat, healthy vegetables and only healthy grains that
do not harm our animals but support their immune system
with essential oils and minerals! Before I found out about
your food, my poor dog was eating a very expensive low-meat
food with mostly corn and wheat, chemical preservatives
and a very high protein content!!! Cindy got this terrible
food six years of her life! During that time she was scratching
the whole day and had to take a lot of medication to treat
the hot spots she got regularly! Due to this bad and unnatural
food, my poor dog has developed horrible allergies to
corn and wheat gluten! Since I switched to your food,
Cindy has not had any hot spots and she hardly scratches!
Her fur is so soft and shiny and the stool is also less
than before and she maintains her weight very easily!

Duck Formula is like a miracle drug. I have 4
dogs, 3 are rescue dogs. One has severe skin allergies.
She was suffering to the point that she would make herself
bleed. After 2 weeks the change has been out of this world.
I wish her vet had recommended this years ago. She is
no longer a sad looking dog, she no longer bleeds and

want to thank you for your Natural Balance®
Potato and Duck Formula. I
am the owner of a retired rescue Greyhound, who for months
suffered from what is known in Greyhound circles as the
"Big D", or diarrhea, and a bad chronic case
of dandruff. After trying several different products and
being given regularly anti-diarrhea medications, I started
him on the Potato and Duck Formula at the recommendation
of a friend who used to work for a vet. After just a day
on the food, his stools started looking more "normal"
and after several days he no longer had what I described
as soft serve ice cream on a hot summer day, appearing
stools. His coat is shiny with less dandruff and he no
longer has to be taken out to relieve himself several
times a day. I was at my wits end, thinking I was going
to have to spend the rest of his life supplementing his

our silly and adorable Boxer, had a difficult time during
her puppy stage. She would constantly have ear infections,

I have a 2 year old Shitzu. Her name is Diva. I got her
at 9 weeks old and from the beginning she was a picky
eater. I started her on Iams puppy formula and she was
ok with it for about a week. Didn't eat much at all but
she ate on her own. Then she stopped eating all together.
I had to hand feed her or put peanut butter in her food
to get her to eat. Since then she has had 7 bouts of a
mysterious virus/bacteria due to a low immune system.

count, the vet had her overnight for a blood transfusion,
she was also on IVs & was given Prednison. My mom
and I gave her cooked chicken & also warm milk for

you for developing your line of pet foods. Our dog Molly
has benefited so much much since we switched to your Natural

Before we made a change in Molly's diet, she began losing
hair on her back. Our vet suggested to us that she may
have cushings disease. We did some research and discovered
there is corn and lots of byproducts in almost every kind
of dogfood. We as a last resort, changed to Natural Balance.
Since we made this change, her hair has grown in healthy
and thick. After her check up today with the Vet, she
is in great health. Molly obviously has allergies to corn

just had to share with you a few photos of Frankie, our
Large Munsterlander. We were lucky enough to add her to

can't thank you enough for making allergy friendly dog
food. Last December my Jack Russell Terrier, Frodo was
diagnosed with Colitis due to food allergies. It was such
a horrible thing to watch him suffer through and a long
process to get it under control. We went through a lot
of different foods, and if he wasn't allergic to it, he
found it absolutely unpalatable. As a last chance before
resorting to vegetarian, our vetrinarian recommended trying

product. My Shepherd mix Beatrice has been suffering for
3 years with bacterial infections both in her digestive

wanted to drop you a little note to let you know of Rhino’s
status since I have changed him to Natural Balance®
Duck and Potato Formula. All I can say is Thank
you, Thank you, Thank you!!! We had found out recently
that Rhino has a thyroid problem and he was taking medication
that he will be on the rest of his life according to the
vet. They also have him on Prednisone for his chronic
itching. Within one month of switching him over he was
a changed dog. His hair stopped falling out and is beautiful
and shiny once again. He’s gained some weight back
and best of all he is completely off the meds for his
allergies. Last week was his vet check and when she came
into the room and saw him she was so delighted with how

rescued a young Brittany pup from a local shelter. He
was skin and bones when I took him in. When he laid on
his side, you could see his heart beating. I had to put
him on veterinarian formula Duck and Potato due to food
allergies. Of course you can imagine the cost for the
vet food was unbelievable for such a small bag and my
poor boy needed to gain weight which meant a slow but
increasing regiment of food allotments. Since I also participate
in American Brittany Rescue's monthly Petco day, I walked
around looking at the different brands. Lo and behold,
I found Natural Balance® Duck and Potato Formula.
I brought in the ingredient bag and compared. The same.
So I bought a bag and slowly transferred Tucker from vet
food to your food. Tucker began a weight at 28 lbs in
May. He now weighs in at 46 lbs. Nice, fit, trim, good
soft coats, muscular AND HAPPY. I've switched my other
two dogs to Natural Balance and they're doing as well.
We're even using the dog food rolls as training treats.
Tucker, of course, sneaks little bits of the rolled food

Here
is a story of how Natural Balance helped my Rotties, Danzig
(my male) and Uta (my female). I recently adopted a female
Rottwieler, and within a few weeks she developed a rash
on her lower stomach. The rash never got better with at
home treatments so I went to the vet. The doc said it
was an infection, and that a regiment of antibiotics would
clear it up. After the antibiotic treatment the rash cleared
up some but never went away, so I went back to the vet.
The vet felt that it wasn't an allergy because of where
the rash was and that it somewhat was cleared up by the
antibiotics. He suggested another round of antibiotics,
and after the second round there was no effect. I spoke
to my dog trainer and she felt that regardless of the
vet's findings she thought it was a allergy. The trainer
suggested a new diet using Natural Balance®
Duck and Potato Formula. Within a week the rash
was clearing up, and now a few months later I haven't
noticed anymore problems. Both dogs liked the food better
than their old food, and their coats are better and less
itching. The food also has added to their energy level
(not necessarily a positive side effect). Although the
my female Rotty needed the diet change I think they both
have benefited from the food. I am concerned about the
health of my dogs and Im impressed with the ingredients
in Natural Balance. I read all of the labels on the food
that I feed them, and I'm happy not to see any junk, fillers,

was wonderful meeting you today at Centinela Feed. Here's
a couple of pictures of Czarina. She's been on Natural
Balance Duck and Potato kibble and canned for a few years
now. Her stools are perfect and her coat is in gorgeous

 Natural
Balance Changed our Lives! I adopted my
dog Butterscotch from a shelter foster care program. He
was newly weaned when I got him and on a commercial grade
grocery store brand puppy food. I put him on a premium
brand food (California Natural) straight away as I thought
this would be best for his nutritional needs. Later, we
noticed that Butterscotch's fur had started falling out
and later still, his skin began to rash. We took him in
to the vet and changed his food. Then, he became lethargic
and again to the vet, we changed his food. After that,
Butter ended up in the vet again with more strange illnesses
and after many weeks of testing we found out that our
little Pound Puppy had severe allergies to Wheat, Rice,
Corn, and Soy! As you can imagine, this cut out pretty
much all dog foods that we had access to. I was reluctant
to put Butter on the BARF Diet because I have a congenital
Immune Deficiency and am wary of dealing with raw meats
because of my low tolerance to bacteria. At this point,
I was at my wit's end. I started combing every source
I knew of for a wheat, corn, rice, and soy-free dog food.
Finally, I found out about Natural Balance Duck
and Potato formula. I read the online label over
and over to make sure I was reading what I thought I was
reading! I bought the bag of food thinking either Butter
would turn up his nose at this and I'd be back to square
one, or something in this food would trigger an allergy,
but as soon as the bag opened and he got a whiff of the
food, he was jumping at my leg and pawing his way into
the sack! I gave him two pieces and he walked away. After
he finished those two pieces of kibble he returned and
sat down and I filled his bowl. In about 5 minutes, it
was GONE. He loved it. LOVED IT. After 30 days, we took
Butter in to the vet to check for low level allergic reactions
to find that he had none! FINALLY!! A dog food that both

have a German Shepherd, her name is Isabel. I adopted
her 2 years ago on Petfinder.com.
I was feeding her Innova and she itched, she also has
some arthritis problems. The vet switched her to a RX
arthritis formula by Purina, yet she itched even worse
and developed Hot Spots. My poor girl was so unhappy.
So I made the decision with my vet to switch her to a
grain free diet with arthritis supplements to avoid expensive
allergy testing. Duck and Potato was the choice. Guess
what? I have a new dog. She looks so good, no more hot
spots. Her black fur is so shiny that you can see the
purple highlights in the sun. She enjoys her brush now

 In
May of this year my wife and I adopted a 7 year old German
Shepherd named Griffin from the Toronto German Shepherd
Rescue. Griffin (our first dog) has blessed our lives
in countless ways with his warm, grateful, trusting and
friendly personality, seemingly bearing only mild physical
signs of the neglect he experienced from his previous
‘owner’. Most distressing to both Griffin
and ourselves of this neglect were the areas of tissue
on the posterior side of his hocks that constantly caused
him such discomfort that he had licked them raw, rendering
him unable to even sit. Our vet felt the wounds were pressure
points aggravated by Griffin due to anxiety and gave us
a topical ointment to apply. This was extremely difficult
to do as even the lightest touch of the area caused Griffin
obvious pain. Within a few days Griffin became very upset
whenever we tried to apply the ointment and would lick
the medicine off immediately. Over the next 2 weeks we
searched for a possible solution while Griffin’s
legs worsened. I came across numerous websites suggesting
that his diet may have been the source of the irritation.
With nothing to lose we skeptically decided to try your
Potato & Duck Allergy Formula in place of the ‘premium
brand’ (Nutro) we were using. To our amazement within
24 hours of Griffin’s first Natural Balance meal
he had stopped fussing over his sores and they completely
healed over within days. Even the large areas of callus
over his pressure points have started to cover with new

and now actually wags his tail while eating his breakfast

I just
wanted to email you and thank you for making such a high
quality pet food. My 16-year-old English Cocker (Dewey)
was eating Iams dog food for years, and he would always
scratch his skin, etc. Well, last year he developed a
major hot spot, and upon looking up various information
online, I came across your food being mentioned quite
often, how good it was, and that people saw results. Well,
I went out and purchased your Potato and Duck Formula,
and in no time at all, his hot spot went away. In addition,
he no longer seems to scratch his skin a lot (in fact,
he no longer does it at all now) With the Iams, I'd have
to feed him 3 cups or more of the food, and his bowel
movements were just so much, 5 or 6 times on each walk.
In feeding him your food, he only needs a cup (sometimes
more as a treat) and not only has he maintained his weight,
he seems to have gained a few founds (which is good).
His bowel movements now are very seldom and firm, unlike
the Iams. Since feeding him your food, his energy level
has gone sky high. It truly is a perfect example of what
Natural Balance® can do. I tell people this all of
the time, but most just don't think of their pet's food.
I also just got an American Cocker puppy (he is 7 weeks
now) and the food that the breeder gave him, he would
eat, but there was not much excitement in it. Upon coming
in my room where Dewey is, he went right for Dewey's food,
and gobbled it up like it was going out of style. Suffice

 Just
a quick note to tell you how appreciative we are of the
Natural Balance Potato and Duck dry food formula. Our
dog suffered from allergies and a sensitive stomach for
several years, while we searched for a solution to alleviate
her problems. During this time, we tried other "premium"
brand dog foods, with no change in her symptoms. She constantly
licked her paws and would frequently go through stages
of not eating, then throwing up. We were so worried and

 My
male German Shepherd was 7 weeks old when we picked him
up from the breeder. He suffered from chronic diarrhea
and could not digest any food. What went in came out.
Literally! The Vet wanted me to try Science Diet
Prescription on him. So we did, he would not eat
it. His coat, which is a telltale sign of nutrition, was
lackluster at best, he was not gaining weight and was
sick, almost to the point of needing hospitalization.
On a whim and thinking, "I am losing only $10.00
on this bag of food," I tried your Duck and Potato
- (a recommendation from a friend). My dog
at this point was 11 months old. Within 48 hours, the
diarrhea was about gone and he was energetic. I cannot
thank-you enough and I am a true believer in your "Premium"
foods. I have been feeding this ever since, and even enjoy
the smell of the dry mix. He even likes the food. We also
use the rolls of food for training treats and rewards.
Both of my German Shepherds like them. Here is a picture
of my happy dog with my son. The dog is 18 months now
and my son who tries all of the food is 10. No more food
allergies or problems. He has a lustrous coat and lots

 I
have a 9 year old English Springer Spaniel named Jasper
who has severe food allergies and intolerances. He can't
have chicken, beef, lamb or grains. I first tried your
Natural Balance® Potato
and Duck Formula 2 years ago when his allergies
first started. Within a week I noticed a drastic change.
His eyes started to clear up, his ears were finally clean,
the licking and scratching of his paws diminshed and his
tummy no longer gurgled constantly. All I can say is THANK
YOU!!! Finally, a dog food that agrees completely with
my dog in every way. It's so hard to watch your dog suffer
from so many allergies. I have tried other premium brands
that are also non-allergenic but none of them totally
agreed with my dog. I always end up going right back to

 I
have two Pomeranians, one of which is a very picky eater,
who tends to have stomach problems. My older Pomeranian,
Bear, has tried about 4-5 different, dog foods all of
which are high quality and all gave him an upset stomach.
I was told about your brand of food and I thought why
not I have tried everything else. I bought the Potato
& Duck allergy formula, and Bear loved it. He has
not had any stomach problems with it, he is now 2 years
and 4 months old. I now have a 9 month old Pom. In addition,
she loves the food as well. My Veterinarian commented
on their health and shinny coat, I told him about the
food and he said keep up the good work. Here is a picture

 My
wonderful yellow lab Celtie is an agility dog, and is
active in a canine agility demonstration team, and is
a certified pet therapy dog with the St. John's Ambulance
Program. Celtie will be 8 in September, and for the past
several years has developed food and seasonal grass allergies,
which appeared mainly in the form of inflamed ears and
horrible inflammation between the pads of her feet. I
had done a lot of research on dog foods and had narrowed
it down to two choices, Natural Balance and another high
quality holistic food. I chose the other food, and she
did fairly well on it. Back in February/04, Celtie had
to have major dental surgery to remove an abscessed molar.
The tooth had cracked and infection had sent in. They
had to saw the tooth up and remove it in sections;
after a 2.5 hour surgery, my vet was hopeful they had
gotten all the fragments, but the length of the surgery
was tough on all involved, especially Celtie. She picked
up a post-op virus which had her very low for a number
of days, but she thankfully got better, and has had no
problems with the tooth site since. Unfortunately, the
virus threw her immune system totally out of whack, and
her old dog food was not controlling the allergies. When I
took her to the vet, her poor feet were the worse they
had ever been. I immediately switched her over to your
Duck & Potato formula, and the vet put her on antihistamines
- 6 a day to start. I am pleased to say that we are now
down to one pill a day, which is helping I feel mainly
with the grass allergy. I'm sure that is it were just
the food allergy, the Duck & Potato would control
it completely without any meds. She has never been healthier,
and her poops are small and firm. I like the food so much
that I switched my one year old yellow lab Raine over
as well, and she is the picture of health.
A huge plus is that we live in a small town in Alberta,
Canada and our local feed store carries the Duck &
Potato as well as your Ultra formula on a regular basis.
One more note, and the reason I'm actually sending this
in. I was browsing PETAs website, and I saw that you are
on their recommended list of cruelty free dog foods, and
that their old brand was not. Kudos to you, and your wonderful
dog food. I tell people about it at every opportunity.

REALLY DOES WORK!!!!!! Our wonderful dog Fenway has had
SEVERE skin problems since he was about a year old (he
is now going on 4). We were spending about $300 on his
vet bills every 3 months or so and they could NEVER tell
us what was wrong with him! He would shed like a maniac
and he would scratch himself raw. He would have bald red
spots all over his body and then they would get infected,
bleed and be filled with puss. He had no energy because
he was so uncomfortable. The vets would give him antibiotics
and of course, that would fix him, but only temporarily.
A friend of ours talked to her vet and they suggested
your Duck and Potato!! That was about a month ago and
ever since Fenway is a changed dog! ALL his ailments have
disappeared, he has more energy, and is a truly different
dog. We can't thank you enough for having this great product

 I
just wanted to take the time to thank you very much for
your Duck and Potato formula for dogs Last year my dog
Happy started leaking urine when lying down. Took her
to the vet (spent nearly $200 on tests) to find out everything
was normal. The vet thought maybe spay incontinence might
be the cause of it, but I decided to hold off on putting
her on the hormone treatment. Anyhow, after a few days
I finally realized what had been causing her problem,
it was the white rice I had been adding to her food. Took
away the rice, problem went away. Well, about a month
ago the problem came back again. I did some research on
the web and found out that if she is allergic to rice,
she is probably allergic to the other grains commonly
found in pet food as well. Well, last week I was in a
local pet store and came across Natural Balance Duck and
Potato blend, what a god send it has been. Happy has been
on the diet for 1 wk now and I'm happy to say she is no
longer waking up in a puddle, I am so happy. Before I
found your formula I had to make sure that I kept those
disposable incontinent pads everywhere. Happy liked to
lay down and they were always pretty wet when she got
up, and she seemed pretty embarrassed by the whole thing
as well. The results on the Natural Balance diet were
almost instant. By the 2nd morning her pads were no longer
wet, and she is now much happier as well. Thank you so
much. My Mom's 15 yr old water dog has also been having
some skin and ear problems, which I believe are allergy
related and my sister's Himalayan has irritable bowels.
I think both could benefit from Natural Balance as well,
and you can be sure I will be recommending it to them,

 We
have a 1 year old Flat-Coated retriever named Lex, all
black. Ever since we've had him, we had been feeding him
the same "premuim" food - ProPlan. Without warning
3 months before his 1st birthday he starte to develop
horrible skin allergies, tearing his hair out and bleeding.
He scratched so much even his ears bled. We were at a
loss, the vet had to give him antibiotics and a cortisone
shot to calm him down. After months on antibiotics, he
was still not getting better and I tried herbal natural
remedies. They helped but he was still getting postules
all over his body. We were at a loss. The vet suggested
we do an allergy test but before we did such an expensive
test, we decided to try and change foods. We changed foods
twice and still no change. Then Petco opened up in the
nearby town of Orlando and we found your food. We tried
the Potato & Duck formula and treats and that is all
he's had for over a month. It WORKED! We are so happy
and so is Lex. He loves your food, I only found 3 postules
this week and they are going away, he is not scratching
and the feathers on his legs, neck, tail and tummy have
begun to form. His bald patches are all but gone. I told
his breeder about your food and also his vet techician.
Hopefully they can tell others about your food before
they get to be as desperate and frustrated as we were
with his allergies. UPDATE:
I wanted to let you know that Lex's allergies
are all clear. He has no postules his coat is beautiful
and shiny and most of all he is happy! I am sending a
picture taken this past December. By that time his allergies
were gone. Everyone who saw Lex with his allergies and
who sees him now is very impressed. When I took him in
for his check up last month the vet said that if it were
not for his medical record she would not know he had suffered
from allergies, that's how good his skin and coat looked.
She said he was in excellent condition. After months of
seeing him suffer, pull his hair out and bleed from scratching
that was music to my ears. I credit your food as curing
him. Thank you, thank you thank you for giving me my happy,

 Hey
there! I was hoping for the day to come when I could actually
write a maker of dog food and thank you for helping. Well,
that day is here. My eight year old Airedale Terrier,
Breyers, has suffered with skin allergies his whole life.
I tried every dry food imaginable. We resorted to allergy
shots, bathing rituals and holding our noses. Nothing
worked. Breyers' odor was unbearable at times and we found
ourselves spending less and less time with him because
of it. Touching him was an oily mess and he was itchy
constantly. Everything became a scratching post much to
my dismay. He was constantly being told to get away from
the furniture and only lay in his bed. My husband, not
being the forgiving pet lover as I am, would resort to
scolding him when he would wake us up at night from scratching.
I think we were all going a little crazy. My vet, who
is a very smart man, recommended that I try baking him
potatoes and using canned mackerel. He was on to something.
I tried baking spuds for a few days before I realized
this idea was not going to work for me. I was too busy
to be my dogs personal chef. It was at this time that
I visited my local Petco and mentioned Breyers problem
to an associate who led me to your Duck and Potato Formula.
It's been about 3 months now and I have a new dog. The
odor is gone. The skin is no longer flaking. He doesn't
scratch at all. He doesn't bite himself AND his coat is
turning black again after having been gray! His eyes are
clearer and his general mood is like that of a young dog.
I tell everyone I come in contact with about the product.
Groomers, my vet, friends, Petco .......and I tell them
to tell everybody! I know it costs a bit more but it works.
I'm happy to have my healthy friend back! We're all sleeping
alot better too! Oh, my friends from France think he's
a pretty lucky dog getting all that duck! A little luck,
